Discover the fundamentals of sketching in this relaxed and supportive class designed for adults of all skill levels. We’ll explore essential drawing techniques such as line, shape, proportion, shading, and observation while building confidence through guided exercises and practice.

This class is perfect for beginners or anyone looking to refresh their drawing skills. You’ll learn how to loosen up, see like an artist, and translate what you observe onto paper using simple tools like pencil and charcoal. No prior experience is necessary, just curiosity and a willingness to experiment.

What you’ll learn: Basic sketching techniques and mark-making; how to observe shapes, values, and proportions; shading and depth to bring drawings to life; tips for building a daily sketching practice.

All materials provided (or feel free to bring your own favorites).

Come enjoy a creative, low-pressure environment and leave with new skills you can continue using at home.

• Advance registration is required. Each class must meet a minimum participation number. If the minimum is not met at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled start time, the class is subject to cancellation.
